LAURA CROMWELL - LCPC, LMFT, ACADC, NCC

 

Laura Cromwell was born on her grandmother’s farm in northern Montana and grew up in Great Falls and Kalispell. Her teaching career began at the age of six when she successfully taught Ray, her younger brother and Leslie, her younger sister to read and solve math problems before they reached kindergarten. After student teaching in New Zealand, she graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education and went on to teach math at Sweet Grass County High, Boise High and Meridian High Schools. Inspired by a desire to have the skills to be more supportive of her students, she completed a master’s degree in school counseling.

 

Laura began her counseling career in secondary education working primarily with adolescents and their families. Her success and passion for the counseling field inspired her to become a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Counselor, and Advanced Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. She went on to become a National Board Certified Counselor and she is currently registered by the state of Idaho as a counselor supervisor. Laura has worked as a Clinical Professional Counselor in a variety of settings including: schools, Idaho Department of Corrections, and in private practice. She utilizes an eclectic approach to counseling that includes Adlerian, Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Positive Psychology theories.

During her leisure time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband Leo, their four adult children and ten grandchildren. Her favorite activities include: riding the waves at Roaring Springs, hiking to Grassy Twin Lakes, skiing at Bogus Basin, building the family cabin in New Meadows, walking the Labyrinth at the Botanical Gardens, playing Apples to Apples with family members, running marathons, taking walks on the greenbelt and having coffee with her mother. She also enjoys traveling, hiking, rafting, cruising, camping, dancing and laughing with her four sisters, brother, and friends.
