JULIE MYERS, M. COUN., LCPC, NCC

Julie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Idaho, a National Certified Counselor, and a registered counselor supervisor. She graduated from Idaho State University with a Master of Counseling degree. Since 2000, Julie has been providing counseling and consulting services in community mental health, government, and not-for-profit agencies as well as private practice. She has served both her profession and her community as treasurer and president of the Idaho Mental Health Counselors Association and as a member of the East Boise Community Work Center Advisory Board and the Treasure Valley Drug and Alcohol Coalition.

Prior to becoming a counselor, Julie held a number of different positions including professional orchestra conductor, college instructor, sculptor, public school teacher and business manager. In her free time, she enjoys the Idaho outdoors while camping, fishing and hiking, as well as her home life including gardening, cooking, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family.

COUNSELING PRACTICE

Julie works with adults, elders, adolescents, individuals, couples, families, and groups and maintains a general practice covering a wide range of mental health related issues. She has additional training and experience in the following areas:

• Geriatric mental health, including caregiver support, elders who are parenting their grandchildren, and life transitions for elders and family members

 

• Trauma and abuse recovery, including victims of crime, intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, disaster, and accidents

Julie is committed to excellence. While providing ethical, respectful, and caring counseling to all her clients, she works to assist each client in developing and achieving goals and will tailor care to meet individual needs and situations. Julie is a preferred provider for most insurance companies and employee assistance programs.
